Looking for a loving home for a beautiful 2 year old, male dog, named; KEM
His previous owner moved house and left him behind. A nice old lady in the street kindly gave him shelter from the rain at night and provided food, till we offered to help re home him. (we have been visiting friends in the same street for over 1 year now – so this is how we came across him)
Kem has been sitting waiting patiently for 3 days for his previous owner to return – but sadly he wont be coming back.
Wanting to find a good, safe home for him. We already have 3 medium-large sized dogs in a small house, otherwise we would keep him – as he has a nice temperament.
He is healthy, and appears to be a bang-keaw mixed with something (see photos) , his colours / markings are very attractive, and he has a very easy going personality. He has previously been bought up in a Thai way, where the front door is open, come and go as you like… although he doesn’t seem to go too far from what he called home.
We ask for no payment, only that you have a home where he will be loved as he deserves.

An impressive story about a stray dog called Boonrod that initially survived from being run over by a car. A man rescued him from the street and took it to a hospital, and in doing this, many other people became involved such as a tuk tuk driver, who took the man and dog to the hospital free of charge. Some pet owners at the hospital helped with the treatment costs. Sadly, Boonrod died, but the help and kindness of the people from very different walks of life created the best in our society.

เฉิน อี้หยัง ชาวบ้านในกรุงปักกิ่งวัย 21 ปี กลับมาได้พบกับเจ้าสัตว์เลี้ยงแสนรักของเขาได้อย่างน่าประหลาดใจอีกครั้ง “ผมกำลังขับจักรยานยนต์ไปบ้านพ่อกับแม่หลังจากเลิกงานเมื่อวันที่ 6 ก.พ. และผมเหลือบไปเห็นหมาน้อยตัวหนึ่งมอบอยู่ข้างถนน” เฉินกล่าว
“เจ้าหมาดังกล่าวช่างเหมือนกับหมาของผมที่หายไปเมื่อ 7 ปีที่แล้ว ผมหยุดรถ ถอดหมวกกันน็อกออก ผิวปากและเรียกชื่อมันออกไป เปิ้นเปิ้น เจ้าหมาตัวเมียจ้องมองผม 3 วิ แล้วก็วิ่งรี่เข้ามาหาผมด้วยท่าทางที่ดีใจที่สุดในชีวิตของมัน”

Seven years after going missing, a dog managed to recognize the voice of its owner. Chen Yiyang, a 21-year-oldBeijingresident, was dramatically reunited recently with his lost pet.
“I was riding a motorbike to my parents’ home after work on Feb 6 and I saw a dog crouching on the roadside,” Chen said.
“The dog looked like the one I had that went missing seven years ago. I stopped, took off my helmet, whistled and called out the name. She stood still and looked at me for three seconds and then rushed crazily toward me.”

สร้างความผิดหวังเป็นอย่างยิ่งหลังจากรอมานานกับ พ.ร.บ.ป้องกันการทารุณกรรมและสวัสดิภาพสัตว์ฉบับเเรกของประเทศไทยถูกตีกลับโดยค.ร.ม. เมื่อ 24 มกรา 2555 ที่ผ่านมา
เลขาธิการสมาคมป้องกันการทารุณกรรมสัตว์แห่งประเทศไทยแถลงว่า
…..ร่าง พ.ร.บ.ดังกล่าวกลับไม่ได้รับการเห็นชอบ ทั้งที่ได้รับการพิจารณาจากคณะกรรมการกฤษฎีกาแล้ว เพราะคณะรัฐมนตรีบางท่านได้แสดงความเห็นว่า พ.ร.บ.มีบทลงโทษที่หนักไป ซึ่งความจริงบทลงโทษจำคุก 1 ปี และปรับ 20,000 บาท ถ้าเทียบกับประเทศอื่นๆ ถือว่าของไทยยังต่ำมาก ที่ผ่านมาประเทศไทยไม่มีกฎหมายป้องกันการทารุณสัตว์ใดๆ แต่ต้องอาศัยประมวล กฎหมายอาญาเพียง 2 มาตรา คือ (มาตรา 381 และ 382) โดยระบุบทลงโทษปรับแค่ 1,000 บาท จำคุก 1 เดือน หรือทั้งจำทั้งปรับ ซึ่งถือเป็นกฎหมายมะโนสาเหร่ ด้วยเหตุดังกล่าวจึงทำให้ประเทศไทยมีข่าวการทารุณสัตว์อย่างต่อเนื่องตลอดปีไม่ทำให้ผู้ละเมิดรู้สึกเข็ดหลาบ ซึ่งเป็นภาพลักษณ์ทางลบให้แก่ประเทศไทยมาตลอด ”
“ถ้าจะต้องรอกระบวนการภาครัฐที่จะนำ พ.ร.บ.ดังกล่าวเข้าสู่กระบวนการเสนอกฎหมายก็จะใช้เวลายาวนานกว่า 2-3 ปี หรือมากกว่านี้ ซึ่งจะทำให้สถานการณ์การทารุณสัตว์ในประเทศไทยย่ำแย่ลงไปอีก สมาคมฯ จึงได้ร่วมมือกับองค์กรภาคีและผู้รักสัตว์ทั่วประเทศ รวบรวมรายชื่อประชาชนให้ได้อย่างน้อยไม่ต่ำกว่า 10,000 รายชื่อ เพื่อนำ พ.ร.บ.ดังกล่าวเสนอเข้าสู่สภาผู้แทนราษฎรโดยภาคประชาชน

The animal welfare bill was resubmitted via the government sector and considered in parliament on January 24th 2012.
Unfortunately, no one from the government sectors was invited to defense this bill in parliament.
The animal welfare bill has been rejected again!!!
Please help us to collect signatures very urgently in order to resubmit the bill via the community sector. The resubmission via community sector will have impacted in that we will have 3-5 people from the community defend the animal welfare bill in parliament

เรื่อง รวบรวมรายชื่อผู้สนับสนุนร่างพ.ร.บ.ป้องกันการทารุณกรรมและการจัดสวัสดิภาพสัตว์ พ.ศ. …..
การรณรงค์รายชื่อจากภาคประชาชนผู้รักสัตว์เพื่อให้ช่วยกรอกแบบฟอร์ม ข.ก.๑ ดังที่แนบมาเพื่อรวบรวมให้ครบตามจำนวนกว่า 10,000 รายชื่อซึ่งขณะนี้สมาคมฯ มีอยู่แล้วกว่า 7,000 รายชื่อตามข้อกำหนดรัฐธรรมนูญปี 2550 เพื่อนำเสนอประธานรัฐสภาประกอบกับร่างพ.ร.บ.ที่มีอยู่แล้ว
ความเป็นมาในการรณรงค์ครั้งนี้เนื่องจากร่างพ.ร.บ.เดิมที่นำเสนอโดยกระทรวงเกษตรและสหกรณ์และสมาคมป้องกันการทารุณสัตว์แห่งประเทศไทย (TSPCA) ร่วมกับสภาทนายความซึ่งในรัฐบาลที่ผ่านมาได้รับการบรรจุในวาระการพิจารณาของรัฐสภาในลำดับที่ 140 แต่ต่อมาได้มีการยุบสภาและมีรัฐบาลชุดใหม่เข้าบริหารประเทศร่างพ.ร.บ.ดังกล่าวไม่ได้รับการยืนยันจากคณะรัฐมนตรีชุดใหม่ นอกจากเฉพาะร่างรีบด่วน 24 ร่างจาก 140 ทั้งหมดเท่านั้น
ดังนั้นร่างพ.ร.บ.ดังกล่าวจึงถูกตีกลับมาที่กระทรวงเกษตรและสหกรณ์ซึ่งจะต้องได้รับการนำเสนอเข้าสู่คณะรัฐมนตรีเพื่อพิจารณาอนุมัติรับหลักการก่อนนำเสนอไปยังรัฐสภาอีกครั้งเพื่อบรรจุเข้าสู่วาระการประชุมกระบวนการและขั้นตอนดังกล่าวจะต้องใช้เวลาตามระบบราชการอีกยาวนาน ดังที่เป็นมา TSPCA และภาคีผู้รักสัตว์ทุก ๆ ฝ่ายต่างมีความเห็นร่วมกันในการที่จะรวบรวมรายชื่อภาคประชาชนเพื่อสนับสนุนร่างพ.ร.บ.ดังกล่าวเข้าสู่รัฐสภาอีกช่องทางหนึ่งที่รัฐธรรมนูญได้เปิดทางไว้ ซึ่งร่างที่นำเสนอใหม่ก็จะเข้าไปร่วมสมทบกับร่างที่นำเสนอโดยกระทรวงเกษตรและสหกรณ์ร่างเดิมซึ่งกรรมาธิการฝ่ายกฎหมายของรัฐสภาก็จะพิจารณารวมร่างทั้งสองเข้าเป็นร่างเดียวกันเพื่อนำเสนอเข้าสู่การพิจารณาของสภาผู้แทนราษฎรซึ่งจะเป็นการประกันและเพิ่มน้ำหนักให้ร่างพ.ร.บ.ป้องกันการทารุณกรรมและการจัดสวัสดิภาพสัตว์ พ.ศ. ….. ได้อยู่ในการพิจารณาของรัฐสภาต่อไป
ดังที่เรียนมาโดยสังเขปนี้ประสงค์ให้ภาคีผู้รักสัตว์ร่วมมือกันรวบรวมรายชื่อผู้สนับสนุนเพื่อนำเสนอ “ในนามภาคประชาชน” กันต่อไป

Resubmit the animal welfare bill through the community sector
The animal welfare bill, which was put on parliamentary agenda 140, has been rejected because of the change in government.
Therefore, we need to collect 10,000 Thai signatures according to the constitution laws 2007 in order to resubmit the bill through the community sector.
Please help this resubmission by filling in the attached format and send it to Lanna Dog together with a copy of your house registration and personal ID. Please endorse copies of your house registration and ID by putting a diagonal line through the text (corner to corner} and writing “Use for AW only”.
Lanna Dog will collect the formats & information and forward them to the TSPCA, who is the key organization for arranging the resubmission.
Please send these details to Lanna Dog Welfare as soon as possible.

We often have a problem with cats, which are brought to us for sterilization. The communities often bring them in fertilizer bags or sandbags and not in cages. It is difficult to photograph for Pet ID, and check health and weight, because they often become anxious and jump away when the bag is opened. Apart from a cage, the cat can be carried in a fishing net, which is practical for animal welfare. It is easy to handle and the cats stay relaxed with their owner.
Pets might join in village activity, such as special ceremonies, so few animals came to us, but 18 were sterilized at San Klang sub-district last Saturday.
ปัญหาที่พวกเราพบเป็นประจำก็คือ เจ้าของแมวเอาแมวมาทำหมันโดยใส่ถุงปุ๋ยหรือถุงทรายแทนใส่กรง ทำให้ยากต่อการถ่ายรูปทำบัตรประจำตัวสัตว์เลี้ยง ตรวจสุขภาพ ชั่งน้ำหนัก เพราะแมวมักจะตื่นและกระโดดหนีเมื่อเปิดปากถุง
มาทำหมันที่อ.บ.ต.สันกลางคราวนี้ เราออกจะปิ๊งไอเดียวิธีการที่แมวถูกพามาโดยใส่อยู่ในตาข่ายใส่ปลา นับว่าให้ความใส่ใจในสวัสดิภาพสัตว์ดีทีเดียว เพราะสะดวกต่อการจัดการและแมวก็ผ่อนคลายเมื่อมองเห็นเจ้าของอยู่ไม่ห่าง
เพราะมีงานในหมู่บ้าน เสาร์ที่ผ่านมาเลยทำหมันได้เพียง 18 ตัว สงสัยถ้าจะไปร่วมงานกันทั้งคนและสัตว์เลยมากันน้อย
